Healdsburg Jazz Festival
Jun 03 - Jun 12, 2011
The 2011 Healdsburg Jazz Festival returns for its 13th year, an unprecedented 10 day event in the wine country an hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Events are held in a variety of in-town locations, including the town Plaza, the Raven Theater, local wineries and parks.
Musicians from across the country have committed to returning to "the best small jazz festival in the world" (SF Chronicle) for 10 days of headliners, themed concerts and intimate venue gigs.
You'll want to see Charles Lloyd with Zakir Hussein, Fred Hersch and Julian Lage, Geri Allen, Charlie Haden, George Cables, Bobby Hutcherson, James Newton, Bennie Maupin
and many more.
Special performances include Latin Jazz on the Green (with John Santos, Pete Escovedo, Arturo Sandoval and others), and One Voice -- an afternoon of vocal jazz and blues (with Madeline Eastman, Bobbe Norris, Linda Tillery, Rhonda Benin Kenny Washington and more).
