Jazz Camp – June 27 – July 2
Tuition: $565 (residential campers) $465 (day campers)

This residential camp is for middle and high school students from both Southeast Michigan (Detroit) and Greater Lansing, with some playing experience on their instruments. The program focuses on jazz orchestra and small groups, exposing participants to the many arrangements and composition styles used in jazz. The students will learn applied theory, sight-reading and improvisation. Students stay in resident halls and dine in the hall cafeteria, getting a look at college life from a firsthand perspective. In addition to working with MSU College of Music world class jazz faculty, students work closely with MSU Jazz Studies student mentors.
