Christmas Time is Here, feat. Dianne Reeves at the Kennedy Center

Dec 18, 2009 07:30 PM - 09:30 PM

Vocalist Dianne Reeves, described by the New York Times as "the only jazz singer with a voice big enough to rival Sarah Vaughan's," sings "Carol of the Bells," "Let It Snow," "Little Drummer Boy," "I'll Be Home For Christmas," and other carols from her 2004 album, Christmas Time Is Here. Ben Ratliff of the New York Times praised Reeves as "a jazz singer of frequently astonishing skill, [who] takes the assignment seriously; this is one of the best jazz Christmas CDs I've heard." Renowend for her virtuosity and improvisational prowess, Reeves was awarded the Grammy Award® for Best Jazz Vocal Performance for four consecutive recordings- a Grammy® first in any vocal category.

Dianne Reeves will give two performances on the night of December 18th, at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sale Oct. 7, 2009 to the public. Complete concert information is available at The Kennedy Center website.
