Josie Falbo – vocalist
"...Falbo in turn roars like a lioness, purrs like a kitten, and scats like a stickball bouncing down Taylor Street. " – David Witter, Fra Noi
Josie Falbo is a true Chicago legend! One of Chicago's busiest and most frequently heard studio singers for over 35 years, Falbo was signed to Vee-Jay Records in 1963, releasing a '45 - "Leave Me Alone/Easy To Love" which served as an early catalyst for her life in music and recording. Her debut release for Southport Records is filled with her love of many forms of music, especially R&B and Jazz. Falbo sings and swings her way through 15 delectable tracks on “Taylor Street,” from “At Last” and “Oh Happy Day” to “The Very Thought Of You” and “Triste” – with a “who’s who” of Chicago recording artists, including Peter Polzak, Richie Davis, Bobby Schiff, Alejo Poveda, Bobby Lewis, Chris "Hambone" Cameron, Bill Harrison, Larry Gray, Pat Ferreri, Jim Trompeter, Laurence Hobgood and many, many more!
The annual "Festa Italiana" on Taylor Street in Chicago always brings back a 'slice of life' for the neighborhood of Falbo's youth, where she performs each year; and her work with Chicago's critically and internationally acclaimed "Lakeside Singers" has been seen and heard by thousands on TV as well as in person at their spring and Christmas shows.
