Grammy-nominated pianist Bill Charlap was born in New York City and studied with Jack Reilly and Dick Hyman. Among the numerous greats Charlap has accompanied are Gerry Mulligan, Phil Woods and Tony Bennett. Charlap currently leads a trio with bassist Peter Washington and drummer Kenny Washington and has recorded for the Blue Note and Criss Cross labels.
