About Fran Kaufman

Photographer Fran Kaufman is a regular on the jazz scene. Her photos are seen daily on the WBGO 88.3 Radio photoblog. She is a contributing photographer to Hothouse Jazz Magazine, where her monthly feature, “ A Moment You Missed,” takes readers behind the scenes. 2011 marks the fourth year that she has been the official photographer of The Jazz Cruise.

Kaufman’s work has been the subject of one-person shows at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and at the gallery at WBGO Radio.

An exhibit of her photographs opens February 3 at the Oregon Jewish Museum in Portland to coincide with the start of this year’s Portland Jazz Festival. It will run through April.
