About Nels Cline
One of the most versatile and imaginative guitarists today, native Los Angelean Nels Cline feels as much at home playing melodic country-rock as he does dissonant, avant-garde jazz. Born in 1956, he grew up in the ’70s listening to the varied sounds of Hendrix, Coltrane, John Fahey and Roger McGuinn. Possessing an insatiable appetite for diverse expression, Cline currently performs with alt-country band Wilco, arcane chanteuse Carla Bozulich and alongside experimentalists like Thurston Moore and Zeena Parkins.
