About Rotem Sivan


Rotem Sivan, an Israeli born jazz guitarist is quickly establishing himself as a new voice in the New York Jazz Scene.
His musical palette draws from classical and jazz influences combined with ethnic elements. In his recently recorded album Sivan skillfully fuses these into a new approach to the Jazz Guitar Trio instrumentation. The album is due for release October 2012.
The talented guitarist is a prize winner of the International Competition of Montreux Jazz Festival, 2009. In the summer of 2010 the Rotem Sivan Group was invited to perform at the renowned Bern Jazz Festival, playing side by side with the McCoy Tyner Quartet.

In 2012, Mr. Sivan graduated with honors from the New School University in NYC, where he he was awarded a full scholarship. In addition, Sivan was awarded three scholarships for Excellency by Tel Aviv University where he completed his B.A. studies in Composition and Classical Music, 2008.
Over the years, he had the privilege to perform and collaborate with acclaimed artists: Yasushi Nakamura, Roy Hargrove, Omer Avital, Dave Schnitter, Marc Miralta,, Colin Stranahan, Sameer Gupta, Anat Cohen and Ziv Ravitz. Mr. Sivan performed on top stages around the world such as Les Poisson Rouge, Montreux Jazz Festival, Bern Jazz Festival, Smalls, JCC Hall, The Great Plaza, International Eilat Jazz Festival and many more.
