About Ross May, Jr

Musician, Audio Engineer Ross May Jr, son of Master Audio Engineer Tony May, Is currently producing the New Rochelle Jazz Festival. Ross also serves as the co-chairman of the committee to create and sustain The Ossie & Ruby Davis Community Performing Arts Center in New Rochelle, NY.

The Davis Center is a "teaching venue" based on the model of the American Negro Theater Workshop which was located in "the basement of the Schomburg" in NYC during the 30's & 40's. In addition to Ossie & Ruby many seminal artists emerged from the workshop to conquer the art / music world.Harry Belafonte, Isabel Sanford,Frederick O'Neal, Sidney Poitier to name a select few.

(The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture is part of the NYC Library system, Master Bass player, Dr.Tsepo Larry Ridley is the "artist in residence")
