About Venkates Swaminathan

Venkates "Swami" Swaminathan was born in Bombay (Mumbai), India, and has lived in Bombay, New Delhi, Champaign-Urbana, and the Bay Area. He has an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi. He has been an entrepreneur and executive at several software, Internet, and Web 2.0 companies.

He is a trained Indian classical singer, and a jazz and blues vocalist and pianist.
