About Mark Adams
Mark Adams has proven to be a premiere jazz pianist of his generation. Graduated from City College Of New York receiving a Bachelor degree in Music Performance and Fine Arts. Mark Adams is on faculty at York College (CUNY) where he teaches Music Theory, Piano Techniques, Jazz Techniques & Improvisation. Mr. Adams extensive career has allowed him to work with such Jazz Greats as Roy Ayers, Ron Carter, Ronnie Laws, Hugh Masekela, Bobbie Humphrey, Dave Valentine, Wayne Henderson and Tap-Dancer Savion Glover; R&B Artist Erika Badu, Maysa, Bilal, Jocelyn Brown and DJ Pete Rock. Mark Adams is a published author with his debut book released in August 2010 called “Basics”. Mark Adams has recorded 3 cds under his own name,(Asceticism, Feel The Groove, Something’s Going On), with the fourth cd called EMBELLISHMENTS (The Q&A Project) featuring Jonathan Quash released April 5th, 2011 on Roberts Music Group. Adams has performed throughout Europe, Australia, Africa, Cuba, Japan and The U.S. with Roy Ayers and other great artist. Mr. Adams began touring under his own name in 2010, at times using special guest of the likes of Maysa, Tom Brown and Ronnie Laws. His live sound is Fresh & New.
