About Jeffrey Siegel
Jeff works as Vice President of Estate and Financial Planning at United Wealth Management Group in Northampton, Massachusetts. Prior to accepting the position,
He earned his juris doctor degree from the University Of Connecticut School Of Law and an LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law. His first position out of law school was in the private clients group of a “Big Four” accounting firm, performing tax planning and compliance for highly compensated individuals. Active in his field, Siegel has served as adjunct faculty, seminar leader, and author on topics involving areas of estate planning, specializing in trust administration and taxation. He is a member of the board of directors of the Pioneer Valley Estate Planning Council and a member of the Estate Planning Council of Hampden County. He is currently teaching at American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts as Adjunct Professor in their Masters of Taxation program. In the community, he has served on the boards of numerous arts organizations, including the Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz and the Northampton Center for the Arts. He has served terms on both the Connecticut Commission on the Arts and the Springfield Cultural Commission. For the past five years he has written a jazz blog and recorded a podcast entitled “Straight No Chaser,” which was cited by the Wall Street Journal in 2009 as “a great way for readers to discover new artists and lesser-known works from popular performers.” Check it out at www.straightnochaserjazz.libsyn.com.
Siegel practiced as an attorney for two decades, specializing in estate planning and administration. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Connecticut, and to appear before the United States Tax Court and the United States Supreme Court.
