She began playing at an early age, and after 6 years at the Conservatory of Reykjavik, left Iceland to study with some of the finest music pedagogues in Europe including Stephan Gheorghiu, Victor Pikaizen, Zachar Bron and Tibor Varga. Outside of her conservatory training, she also studied composition, con- ducting, and orchestration at Harvard University.
Evalon has traveled extensively, taught and performed in such diverse places as Pakistan, Japan, Kenya and Zimbabwe. In the U.S. Evalon has performed numerous times at Weill Recital Hall, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, at an all-Szymanowski evening with pianist Roman Markowicz at the Kosciuszko Foundation, and with the New York Scandia Symphony at Trinity Church.
Her two CDs on the JAPIS label in Iceland feature music by Debussy, Chausson, Tartini, Wieniawski, Massenet, Franck, J.S. Bach and Shostakovich. Having just completed a tour of Russia and Finland, Evalon is back in NY and will be releasing her third CD in 2010.
