About Lee Silvan

A native Philadelphian now retired and living in Naples, Florida, he spent over forty years as a college professor in Philadelphia where he wrote and taught one of the first "for credit" college courses in jazz history.

In the 60s, he was a pianist-arranger-conductor for the Army Special Services; and also played some jazz in the Atlanta area.

Academically, he has degrees in music composition from the Philadelphia Musical Academy and University of Pennsylvania. He now lives, writes, and teaches actively in Naples, Florida.
