Bill Doggett II is the namesake and nephew of Bill Doggett, the jazz pianist and famous R&B organist. He is the youngest son of Bill Doggett's younger brother, John Nelson Doggett Jr and his first wife, Frances Brown Doggett.

Bill Doggett II is engaged in Arts Advocacy and Strategic Marketing of African American composers and musicians.

Doggett is also a Guest Lecturer, Archivist and Historian with killer lecturers on subjects in African American Music history contextualized in larger themes in American Historyh.
