Andrew Lamb a.k.a. The Black Lamb, saxophones, flutes, clarinet, oboe, and woodwind instruments from various indigenous societies. Lamb is also a composer in his own right ,and is known as an individual artist, with his own style and his own story. Originally from North Carolina but grew up briefly in Chicago, and predominately in South Jamaica Queens, New York. Andrew Lamb studied saxophone with the legendary AACM charter member
Kalaparusha Ara Difda formerly known as Maurice McIntrye. Lamb came into New York’s once heralded Loft Jazz scene and the avant garde community in the mid seventies , and over time became an active presence in the vibrant Bedford – Stuyvesant arts world at during the decade of the 90’s through 2004 winning yearly Brooklyn Arts Council Regrant Awards , while being a member of The Composers Workshop Ensemble, and The Jus’ Grew Orchestra.
In 2007 Lamb received The Queens Council For The Arts Individual Artist Award.

In 1994, Andrew composed all of the pieces on his first recording as a leader,
“Portrait In The Mist” and has composed the pieces for his other recordingd as well. Lamb has since recorded duo recordings with Warren Smith aka The Dogon Duo, with his ensemble The Moving Form, and most notably, with The Andrew Lamb Trio. These recordings are on the Delmark, C.I.M.P. Engine, & NoBusiness Record labels ( NoBusiness is a label from Lithuania. ) Lamb has also performed throughout the U.S. Europe, and recently The Middle East.
