About Jeff Tamarkin

Jeff_tamarkin_thumb

A former editor-in-chief of Goldmine, CMJ, Relix and Global Rhythm, Jeff Tamarkin is the Associate Editor of JazzTimes. He also spends his days (and often nights) freelancing for a variety of outlets, among them Playbill, the Boston Phoenix, Mojo, Relix and All Music Guide, covering anything from Appalachian string bands to Arabic pop music to rock, R&B, country and jazz of all kinds.

Jeff is the author of the biography Got a Revolution! The Turbulent Flight of Jefferson Airplane, as well as more than 75 liner notes and thousands of articles, reviews, press releases, bios, etc. Jeff has been a jazz fan since he was in the single digits and saw a couple of puppets lip-syncing to Oscar Peterson and Clark Terry's "Mumbles" on The Soupy Sales Show.

Jeff Tamarkin joined the JazzTimes community on Jan 31, 2008
