Ernie Hammes is a Luxembourg trumpeter who specializes in jazz and also plays classical music. He has played both solo and as first trumpet in the Big
Bop Nouveau band, travelling to more than 25 countries while solidly supporting the Luxembourg jazz scene.
Born on 18 August 1968 in Esch-sur-Alzette, Ernest studied at the Conservatories of Esch-sur-Alzette and later at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City and Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Since 1997, when he played in the Birdland, Blue Note in New York, he has travelled widely to clubs and jazz festivals across Europe and North America. Recent venues have included festivals in Chicago , Calgary , Vancouver, Edmonton , New
Orleans, Karlsbad (Czech Republic) and Cleveland, Ohio. He has also played in Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London and at the Montreux Jazz Festival , Den Haag, North Sea Jazz Festival and Toronto festivals. He is the only European to have been a member of the Duke
In his native Luxembourg, he is the founder director and lead trumpet in the Luxembourg Jazz Orchestra and has been a member of the Musique militaire grand-ducale (the Luxembourg Military Band) where he is lead trumpet and leader of the big band.
As for classical music, he has played with the BBC National
Orchestra of Wales, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Latvian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra .
For this 2013 Rythm in The Kitchen Music Festival Ernie Hammes will be accompanied by French Pianist Pierre Alain Goualch, Luxembourg drummer Paul Wiltgen and American bassit Aidan Carroll

The proprietor of the New York-based Ruby Flowers Records, which looms as a global forum for progressive-jazz artists, Dr. Ordonez is also a jazz and arts prophet who engages in special causes throughout the world, amid her numerous activities and keen social awareness of the many debacles facing jazz musicians.
Ana Isabel has been a recipient of multiple grants. She has a Doctor of Sciences degree, writer, jazz editor, poet, independent filmmaker, music/art promoter and producer. She was educated in Europe and has lectured and cooperated in miscellaneous capacities throughout South America, Europe, Africa, East-Europe, Japan, China, New Zealand, Israel, South Africa... In 2004 she published a book on integrated pest management strategies in Luxembourg. She has also published numerous articles on the value of nature.
Her last writing endeavors are concentrated on children books featuring her own illustrations. The books: ” The Extraordinary Love story of Aye Aye and Fedor” and “How Aye Aye met Roibeard the Giraffe” will be available soon in Amazon in three languages. Choreography adaption work based on one the books is an on going project.
