Good vibes are sure to reverberate on Sunday, June 9 when the Los Angeles Jazz Society hosts Vibe Summit XX from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Remo Recreational Music Center in North Hollywood. The vibes-fest will feature an afternoon of performances by a host of leading jazz vibraphone artists who will join in celebrating fellow vibe great, Chuck Redd, L.A. Jazz Society Vibe Summit XX honoree.
"We're thrilled to honor Chuck for his tremendous talent and musical career. Chuck is not only a superb musician, he is a great ambassador of jazz on the international stage," said Los Angeles Jazz Society President, Flip Manne.
Past honorees have included some of the best vibraphone players in jazz including Cal Tjader, Terry Gibbs, Milt Jackson, Larry Bunker, Emil Richards, Gary Burton, and Bob DeSena.
Among the vibes artists confirmed to perform at this year's Vibe Summit are Chuck Redd, Lolly Allen, Patrick Burke, Bob DeSena, Bob Leatherbarrow, Joe Locatelli, Gabriel "Slam" Nobles, Onaje Murray, Steve Neweissman, Dave Olds, Garth Rodriguez, Kahlil Sabbagh, Richard Schwagerl, Tyler Combs, Nick Mancini, and Maia. Backing up the players will be Dave Mackay, piano, Richard Simon, bass, and Paul Kreibick, drums.
Remo Recreational Music Center is located at 7308 Coldwater Canyon, North Hollywood.
