Spectra Jazz introduces Tomer Bar Trio release "Local Groove"
Spectra Jazz introduces teen musicians from Tel Aviv, Israel to the U.S.
Spectra Jazz records will release the Israeli trio's CD "Local Groove" led by 17 year old jazz pianist and composer Tomer Bar to the United States and Canadian markets.
Tomer Bar (Tel Aviv, Israel) shows a versatility as vocalist with an affinity towards Hebrew poetry and lyrics, influences of Pat Metheny and a portfolio that includes Jazz, Classical, Popular and even Country music.
He is joined on the recording by bassist, Uri Kutner (18) and drummer, Ofri Nehemya (18).
Tomer has been featured twice at the Israeli Festival (2007, 2010), The Tel Aviv Festival (2009) and the Givataim Festival (2011).
The CD is the first to gain distribution outside of Israel and demonstrates a varied combination of melodies supported by jazz forms which include contemporary, bop, Latin, and classical elements.
Spectra Jazz released the CD digitally on January 3, 2012, with a street date to be announced.
