This is one heavy debut release from London based trumpeter Paul Jordanous although he has been around the UK Jazz Scene for a good few years and played with some major players including 'Mighty Mocambos with Gizelle Smith', US Soul Legend,New York Voices,Michael Henderson, Jean Carne.
Paul tells me he is very proud of this his debut release which has been a long time coming.
The album includes 8 original compositions all written by Paul
And the amongst the player which are the cream of the UK jazz scene Includes :Kit Downes, Lewis Wright. & Paul Booth respectively
The stand out track for my mortal ears are The Squeeze Driver a track I have featured on our own show, running a close second is Rushing The wait : Superb horns and it's almost Funky !
It's an album that covers most of the genre's within Jazz, but it's Paul's playing that you can feel that it's straight from his soul.
In the words of a mortal superb !
