Out of the Box is a remarkable debut album from Rahe, a Spain native now living in Tucson, Arizona. Rahe is not only a singer with a sweet voice, she is also a pretty good songwriter. All of the outstanding songs on the release are originals.
Rahe music is accesible to any ear and can be mostly classified as smooth jazz and pop, but listening closer you wil find a diversity of influences. "Be Down", and "Pensando" has a distinct bossa flavor. Rahe vocals and Kyle Wilson intimate piano sound on "Rescue" has similarities to singers like Tori Amos. On "Alma y Corazon" Rahe goes Flamenco and even sings in spanish. In fact Rahe is a multilingual singer (english, spanish, portuguese) as can be heard in the song "Dança".
