Saxophonist Rita Ferreira self tittled album is almost a tribute to one of the fathers of Bossa Nova, Antonio Carlos Jobim. Six out of the nine compositions on the album are by Jobim.
Ferreira warm and welcoming tone on the sax is perfect to play Jobim's music. The album includes beautiful interpretations of "Fotografia", "Vivo sonhando", "Ligia", "Corcovado", "Este seu olhar" and "Inutil Paisagem".
Also on the album is one sublime original by Ferreira. "Pipoca Aqui" dedicated to her dog. The other two songs on the release "Manha de Carnaval" and "Gentle Rain" are also classics by another great brazilian composer, Luis Bonfa.
Tracks:"Manha de Carnaval", "Gentle Rain" "Fotografia", "Pipoca Aqui", "Vivo sonhando", "Ligia", "Corcovado", "Este seu olhar", "Inutil Paisagem".
