CD Review: Tan Ping - Paradise

Paradise is the fourth album from singer/composer and Taiwan native, currently living in San Francisco, Tan Ping. Her previous albums, mostly pop music albums, were recorded when Ping was starting her career in Taiwan. So this is her first jazz CD after studying Jazz voice at the University of Southern California and takin an eleven year hiatus to take care of her two children.

Ping is an accomplished composer and good singer with a soothing, sweet voice. Her music has influences of Bossa Nova "Paradise", "You are always with me", pop "Lullaby", "You inspire my whole world", rock "Sky of shining colors", country "Sorrow Away", new age "On this beautiful planet", "My prayer" and smooth jazz "Ten years from today".
