Italian born, raised in America. Sylvia Bennett worked with jazz legend Lionel Hampton and recorded two albums with him. The first one Sentimental Journey was nominated for a Grammy in 1987. Bennett is sings with conviction in english, spanish and french. Sonrie, her fourth solo album, is a spanish version of her album Smile.
Sonrie includes exquisite interpretations of spanish versions of english classics like "Mirada de Amor" (Look of Love), and Charlie Chaplin "Sonrie" (Smile). As well as songs from Latin American tradition like, Armando Manzanero "Somos Novios", "Quien Sera", "Cuando vuelva a tu lado", "Perfidia" y "Sabor a mi"
