06/22/11 Albums By Anthony "Aja" Allsop
Nick Pride And The Pimptones
Début release of Midnight Feast Of Jazz on Record Kicks (Italy)
This is an album from a group of musicians from the north of England (Newcastle) and it's as gritty as the environment they are from it's Jazz with some mighty attitude with an underlying soulful edge.
It ranges from the samba/Latin inspired "Hugo Lorenzo" to the frenzied straight ahead jazz of the title track "Midnight Feast Of Jazz" to my personal favourite "Mia Sorella" .
The rest of album is a mix of jazzy & retro based soul lead by the amazing drum & bass rythmn "Brighter Day"Ft Susan Hamilton & the amazing single release "Lay it on the line" Ft Zoe Gilby
Avaliable on CD LP MP3
A cracking album that i have featured on my Show.
The one negative :What's with the malfunction with the picture of the band in the grey suits you look like you all up for a court appearance lol !
