Bassist Alper Yilmaz is back at it with his incredible bass chops and fascinating writing style. Joined here by some phenomenal counterparts including David Binney and Nir Felder, his new release titled “Over the Clouds” does not disappoint.
The opening track titled “Yet” highlights the incredible and always interesting David Binney. Binney joined Yilmaz on his debut CD titled “Clashes” and always puts the right touch on the recordings he is involved in… The CD moves through some mind-blowing cuts including “Misir with Grandma,” “Her Waves” &“Perplexity.” The title cut “Over the Clouds” presents a soundscape approach to composing and takes you on a outing of musicianship and sound creativity with the help of Tolga Tuzun (who is credited on the CD for Sound Design) – I can honestly say I haven’t seen that to often!
Alper Yilmaz hails from Turkey, and is a real find if jazz bass with some intense creativity is your bag. Keep them coming Alper!
