"Live in Blue Note Milano" (Nar International, 2009) is a double-CD album containing 20 tracks recorded live on September 3rd & 4th 2009 during a concert by the Italian singer Luca Jurman, at the famous music club "Blue Note" in Milan.
Luca Jurman is the first Italian singer who has the distinction of publishing a live album with the brand "Blue Note", symbol of the most refined jazz music and blues. Jurman's performance featured a personal style to all the songs he played, trying to put something of his own, while creating new arrangements without losing the original spirit, rooted in R & B, soul music and contemporary jazz.
The passion, performance, and sheer ability to communicate with his audience and the elegant and refined technique, create an atmosphere that leads to a surreal dimension, pampered by the powerful, deep and "scratchy" voice of Luca Jurman, full of virtuosity and vocal acrobatics, produce a warm voice that will shake you inside, vibrates your soul, and conveys a portrait of the emotion the artist is experiencing.
Luca's musical inspirations are evident, such greats as: Stevie Wonder, one of his favorite singers, especially during the passionate and convincing performance of "Superstition" and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours" (in an extraordinary duet with Alexia). Luca also presents "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You" by Marvin Gaye, "Georgia On My Mind" of the legendary Ray Charles, "Knock On Wood" by Eddie Floyd and Steve Cropper, "Let's Stay Together" All Green, "Easy" by Commodores and "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong, "Crazy" by Gnarls Bakley, "No Woman No Cry" by Bob Marley, "I Believe I Can Fly" by R . Kelly, "This Is What You Are" by Mario Biondi.
In the second CD we listen Jurman in "E poi" by Giorgia, "E penso a te" by Battisti interpreted in a touching and personal way, that leaves you breathless with incredible emotional intensity, "Ogni notte", born from a collaboration of Luca Jurman with Gatto Panceri, sung in a sweet and charming way, "With or Without You" by U2 in a duet with his talented student of the talent show "Amici" Silvia Olari.
The band consists of: Daniele Comoglio (sax), Daniele Moretto (trumpet), Thomas Graziani (drums), Luca Meneghello (guitar), Dino d'Autore (bass), Carlo Palmas (keyboards) and chorus Nadia Biondini ,Chiara Mariantoni and Sandy Chambers.
