Pilar de La Hoz the sweet voice with Peruvian flavour
The new way of Afro-Peruvian jazz
Pilar de La Hoz , is a Peruvian singer versatile showing her talent in languages as Portuguese, English and her native language Spanish. The music is born with her, her attractive and sweet voice and a unique personality makes her a real Star of the Peruvian folklore and the Latin jazz.
Pillar started career singing Brazilian music (Boss nova) at the beginning of the 90 years, her first production solo was recorded in 1991. In the middle of the 1990s she ventured into the jazz she is self-taught and takes as example singers of the size of Ella Fitzgerald, Sara Vaughan, Gal Costa, Jame Duboc, Lucio Dalla, Cecilia Bracamonte and Eva Ayllon. In recent years she is one of the Peruvian artists that has developed the folklore AfroPeruano with the jazz fusion.
Already as a mature singer with vast experience in different stage and work in conjunction with artists such as Luis Salinas (Argentina), Joyce (Brazil), Carmiha Cannavinno (Brazil), Chucho Valdes (Cuba),unraveled the success obtained in one of their most recent work "AfricaAmerica" a concert of jazz constructed from rhythm and thematic diversity Afro-American, in March 2008, represent Peru at a concert made in the City of Buenos Aires (Argentina) in the remembered Chebucca Granada.
Pillar until the moments have 4 productions:
" Canta a Brazil, Jazz con sabor Peruano, De Locos y Cuerdas and Hozadias."
In recent years the Latin Jazz has achieved in the Afro-Peruvian folklore a new way for further strengthening this musical genre for future generations, and the voice of Pilar de la Hoz a reference to further develop our musical culture.
