I know the year is not over yet but this symphony is the best show I have seen in 2009 and I was very fortunate I could take pictures of the event.
Adam Theis demonstrated here a real talent of composer and he succeeded to create a festive fusion between modern jazz, classical music and hip hop. But he was also helped by all the talented musicians and singers who composed the big band (40 musicians on stage when I saw the show).
For me this symphony proves the jazz is not a dead music but a music which can integrate, or be integrated in, all different styles and by doing this we can keep our music alive.
