Larry Reni Thomas, the author of the recently published book, The Lady Who Shot Lee Morgan, (KHA Books) will be interviewed on "Jazz Rapp with the Impressario Al Carter-Bey," May 25, 2014, 1:15 pm (EDT) (12:15 pm, CDT) by host Al Carter-Bey. Thomas will talk about his experience with Helen Morgan, whom he interviewed in February 1996, a month before her death in March of that year. Larry will also discuss his role in American Jazz Musician, the upcoming Swedish documentary based on the death of Lee Morgan
Mr. Carter-Bey is a very popular and well-known radio announcer in Chicago, Illinois, who is respected as a very knowledgeable and well-versed personality. He is also noted as one who calls the music “ African-American Classical Music” instead of jazz.
