Brothers Doug and Bruce Hall are well known on the Texas jazz scene. This album can give the rest of the country a fine earful of their musicianship, which is unerringly thoughtful. Doug (piano, plus composer of all of tunes here) and Bruce (drums) are joined by bassist Marc Johnson for a set of engaging interplay. The trio delves in introspective passages where the net result is a relaxed, pleasurable outing.
