Bill Frisell to Curate JALC Gershwin Program Sept. 20-21
Sam Amidon, Jason Moran & Alicia Hall Moran will perform with Frisell
Guitarist Bill Frisell will serve as curator of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s new Roots of Americana Series. Gershwin & Beyond, the first of three concerts in the series, will take place on September 20–21 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. in the Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street, New York City. The concert will feature the music of William Billings, Stephen Foster and Charles Ives as well as Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess.
Joining Frisell will be vocalist-banjoist-guitarist-pianist-fiddler Sam Amidon, pianist-composer Jason Moran and mezzo-soprano Alicia Hall Moran, who appeared in the Broadway production of Porgy and Bess in 2012.
