The Hi-Lo's
The Columbia Years
Koch International

The Hi-Lo's were a perfect fit for the '50s. Musically hip and squeaky clean, they rode a vogue for male singing groups to the top of the charts. Here, we sample such Hi-Lo classics as "Autumn in New York," "Small World" and "A Face in the Crowd," all culled from the foursome's 1957-61 tenure with Columbia. Even novelty numbers like "Italian Street Song," well, "zing, zing, zing." My favorite track? A dashing "How About You?" with a winning cameo by Rosie Clooney and a sly salute to producer-mentor Goddard Lieberson.
