Photo Gallery: Wayne Shorter at Town Hall, NYC, June 28

Also: ACS with Allen, Carrington and Spalding + Lovano and Douglas’ Sound Prints

As part of the Blue Note Jazz Festival, Wayne Shorter, the saxophone great who will turn 80 in August, brought his quartet—featuring pianist Danilo Perez, bassist John Patitucci and drummer Brian Blade—to New York’s Town Hall last Friday, June 28. Also performing were ACS, featuring pianist Geri Allen, drummer Terri Lyne Carrington and bassist Esperanza Spalding, plus Sound Prints, which features saxophonist Joe Lovano and trumpeter Dave Douglas with Lawrence Fields (piano), Linda Oh (bass) and Joey Baron (drums). Photographer Greg Aiello captured the event for JazzTimes.
