MCG Jazz Searching for Vocalist to Complete Trio
Applicants must submit video
MCG Jazz is searching for an up and coming male vocalist to complete its multi-generational trio. The Gentlemen Sing: Three Generations of Song, featuring Allan Harris and Ernie Andrews, is auditioning for a new male singer between the ages of 18 and 35. Auditions to compete for the ultimate prize of performing a two-show live concert at MCG Jazz with the featured artists will begin on July 1. Performances at MCG Jazz in Pittsburgh will take place on February 28, 2014. In order to audition, interested singers should submit videos electronically on YouTube using the tagline “MCGGen3” and should email their applications to firstname.lastname@example.org. Additionally, those auditioning can send a DVD containing application materials to the following address:
1815 Metropolitan Street
Pittsburgh, PA 15233
Applications should include the appropriate form (downloadable at MCG Jazz), a resume, and a 5-7-minute audition video. Each video should show the vocalist singing “It Could Happen to You” at a medium tempo and one personally selected tune.
Online submissions will be accepted until August 1, and all mailed items should be postmarked by July 20. An online voting period will follow, from August 1 to September 15. Then, during a second voting period, the top 20 most popular singers will be identified to move on to the next round of the competition. On November 15, the final three contestants will be announced and invited to Pittsburgh in December for a sing-off to determine who will ultimately win the chance to perform in February.
