Tibet, Tibet
Real World
For a more unaltered document example of Tibetan vocal music, proceed to Yungchen Lhamo's Tibet, Tibet (RealWorld 2363; 46:17). Expatriated Tibetan Lhamo, who lives and records in Australia, sings mostly unaccompanied, dealing in songs in reverence and mourning for her besieged homeland and the Buddhist life. Lhamo's appearances in rock settings and elsewhere have helped to disperse consciousness about the rich legacy of Tibet and the sadness of its plight, which makes her Realworld project a musical treasure with a mission.
