NYC Landmarks Commission to Honor Miles Davis Thursday
The late trumpeter’s Upper West Side brownstone will receive a medallion
The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission will honor Miles Davis at an official medallion ceremony this Thursday, May 16, at 312 W. 77th Street in Manhattan, from 3-4 p.m.
Attending will be Vince Wilburn Jr. (nephew of Miles Davis), trumpeter Wallace Roney and saxophonist George Coleman.
The brownstone townhouse was purchased by Davis in 1958 and served as both his home and working environment for the artist for 25 years.
