Live At The Silvermine is an amicable introduction to alto/soprano saxophonist John Mastronianni, who hones a bright, bittersweet tone, deft dexterity and slightly aggressive bite. Supported by a superbly sympathetic trio comprised of drummer Terry Clarke, bassist Harvie Swartz and guitarist Steve Brien, Mastronianni engages the audience with a swinging set of blissful originals that range from the bristling, "It's You Or No One" to the gorgeous ballad, "Changes Over Time." Highly recommended.
