Caboclo is a beautifully recorded samba fusion release. Neto plays piano, flute, accordion, organ and percussion; Hans Teuber, flute and saxophones; Chuck Deardorf, bass; Mark Ivester, drums, and Airto Moreira guests. "Hoping for the Day" has lyrical solos by pianist Neto and bassist Deardorf. Two brief cuts, "Luz" and "Nuvens Claras," feature Neto on solo piano. The title cut opens with the rising sound of a flute, talking voices and drumbeats.
