Montreux Jazz Festival Announces 2013 Lineup

Eclectic program includes Krall, Iyer and Lloyd plus non-jazzers Prince and Green Day

The 2013 Montreux Jazz Festival, the 47th edition—the first since the passing of founder Claude Nobs—will take place July 5-20, and will feature a wide array of performs both from within the jazz sphere and outside of it. Among the artists announced (the full schedule is here) are Leonard Cohen, Sting, Prince, Green Day, Kraftwerk, Diana Krall, Joe Cocker, Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite, Wyclef Jean, Cat Power, Rodriguez, Charles Lloyd with Zakir Hussain and Eric Harland, Gregory Porter, the Lumineers, Vijay Iyer, Gal Costa, the Avishai Cohen Quartet, Shuggie Otis, Charles Bradley, Chucho Valdés, Devendra Banhart and many more.
