Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival Set for March 29-April 30
14th annual event to feature Sonny Fortune, Arturo O’Farrill, Wycliffe Gordon, more
The 14th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival, subtitled “Jazz Healing Force of the Universe,” will take place March 29-April 30. Featuring more than 500 artists performing in 45 events at venues throughout Brooklyn, the month-long festival, which describes itself as “New York City’s longest continuously running grassroots festival dedicated to jazz,” is presented by the Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium.
Artists scheduled to perform include Papo Vazquez, Sonny Fortune, Ahnee Sharon Freeman, Gerry Eastman, Lil Phillips, Eric Lemon, Marion Cowings, Greg Bandy, Marvin Horne, Stanley Banks, The New Cookers (Kenyatta Beasley, Keith Loftis, Anthony Wonsey, Dezron Douglas), Jeff King, Lezlie Harrison, Hamiet Buiett, T.C. III, Solomon Hicks, Kathy Farmer, Beareather Reddy, Ray Abrams Big Band, Arturo O’Farrill, Maurice Brown, Dwight ‘Dr. Mambo’ Brewster, Bertha Hope, Phillip Harper, Ted Daniel and IBMC, Napoleon Revels-Bey, Denroy Morgan, Bob Cunningham, Cynthia Holiday, Greg Lewis, and Wycliffe Gordon.
