Buddy Guy
Last Time Around - Live at Legends

Buddy Guy, who has strayed significantly from the old school in recent years, returns to the Delta with erstwhile partner Junior Wells on Last Time Around—Live at Legends (Silvertone 01241-41629-2; 53:04). Recorded at Guy's Chicago club on March 22 and 23, 1993, this intimate acoustic guitar and harmonica encounter offers a touching glimpse of their friendship and the music that bound them together over the years. The program, a reprise of their 1991 Alone & Acoustic on Alligator, includes soulful renditions of classics by Jimmy Reed, Little Walter, Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, and Junior Parker. Highlights include a chilling rendition of Waters' "Hoochie Coochie Man" and the touching finale, Wells' signature piece,"Hoodoo Man Blues."
