Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga Collaborating on Album
Gaga confirms project in Twitter post
An album-length collaboration between Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga is in the works, confirmed in a tweet by Gaga, according to several news sources.
On Wednesday, Gaga reportedly posted on Twitter, “And here’s me and my handsome date, I simply cannot wait for our album together, he’s my darling!” The 26-year-old singer was referring to Bennett, 86, who took her to President Obama’s Staff Ball on Tuesday. Gaga also posted a photo of the two vocalists onstage together.
A Bennett/Gaga duets album has been rumored since late last year. Bennett’s 2011 Duets II album included their tandem version of “The Lady is a Tramp,” which they performed together at the Obama event.
A release date has not been suggested, and Gaga is set to release her own new collection, Artpop, some time this year.
