Singer Marcus Goldhaber to Present Harold Arlen Tribute Off-Broadway
‘The Wonderful Wizard of Song’ will feature many of Arlen’s most popular compositions
Vocalist Marcus Goldhaber is headed off-Broadway to co-star as one of the Three Crooners in a show honoring fellow Buffalo, N.Y., native and celebrated composer Harold Arlen.
The Wonderful Wizard of Song covers Arlen’s work from the Cotton Club through Hollywood to his years composing for Broadway. The show features inside stories of the creation of some of Arlen’s best-known songs, as well as rare footage from The Wizard of Oz, taken by Arlen himself.
The Wonderful Wizard of Song will make its New York debut after a national tour of 18 cities and a monthlong run at the Debbie Reynolds Theatre in Las Vegas.
Nigel Wright, Sam Arlen and George Bugatti created the original concept for the musical, which was produced by Yellow Brick Productions in association with Shea Arender, Steven Colucci and Jerry Rosenberg, and directed by Broadway veteran, Gene Castle.
