Wayne Shorter Announces Concert Dates

Carnegie Hall and Disney Concert Hall shows to feature special performances

Wayne Shorter, who will release his first album for Blue Note Records in 43 years, Without a Net, on Feb. 5, will play a handful of concert dates in support of the release. Saxophonist Shorter will perform with his Quartet (pianist Danilo Perez, bassist John Patitucci and drummer Brian Blade), who are also featured on the album.

The Carnegie Hall show on Feb. 1 will feature the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the Quartet performing four compositions by Shorter alongside works by Beethoven and Ives. On Feb. 9, the L.A. show will include the world premiere of Gaia, a newly commissioned work that Shorter composed for Esperanza Spalding and the L.A. Philharmonic. The Quartet will also perform at Chicago’s Symphony Center (June 7) and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. (Sept. 26). See below for a full list of confirmed tour dates.
