Esperanza Spalding To Host Weekly TV Feature

‘Groundbreaking Music’ will appear on Magic Johnson’s Aspire network

Bassist, vocalist and composer Esperanza Spalding will host a weekly feature on the new Aspire television network, from Magic Johnson Enterprises. Spalding’s segment, Groundbreaking Music, premieres this Friday, October 5, at 8:00 p.m., with Earth Wind and Fire live.

Aspire will feature a range of African-American-oriented programming. Other music and performance specials the show will air include Beyond the Steps: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Dorothy Dandridge Singing at Her Best.
