JALC club debut for a living legend
Pharoah Sanders and his quartet--pianist William Henderson, bassist Nat Reeves and drummer Joe Farnsworth--made their debut at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Sept. 27, 2012. Sanders blew his saxophone with the gusto of a man half his nearly 72 years. He also danced, sang, chanted--during the finale of "The Creator Has a Master Plan"--and proved why he is still revered.
JazzTimes Associate Editor Jeff Tamarkin had front table seats and put his camera to work.
