Joe Lovano to Interview Wayne Shorter Quartet at Detroit Jazz Festival

JazzTImes will present Four on One: A Conversation with the Wayne Shorter Quartet and Joe Lovano this weekend, as part of the 33rd annual Detroit Jazz Festival this weekend. The festival takes place Aug. 31-Sept. 3 and the event will be held in the Jazz Talk Tent. The group includes Shorter, Danilo Perez, John Patitucci and Brian Blade.
Other panels include Papo Vasquez & the Mighty Troubadours, The Golden Age of Detroit Jazz: The 1950s & 1960s, Grammy Sound Table, Mentoring—A Great Detroit Tradition, Radio Days: Who Decides What We Hear?, and The Gabriels of New Orleans. The Jazz Talk Tent will also host Fever: The Little Willie John Story, Downbeat Blindfold Test (with Donald Harrison) and Don Byas: Forgotten Man of Bebop. In addition, Meet the Artist sessions will spotlight Jon-ErikKellso & the Ear-Regulars, David Verger and Gerald Wilson.
