Miles Davis Forever Stamp Dedicated

Postal Service and Hollywood Bowl honor Davis

Miles Davis has recently been honored by the U.S. Postal Service with a commemorative Forever Stamp. The Los Angeles dedication took place at the Hollywood Bowl’s Museum Terrace with Cheryl Davis, daughter of Miles; Erin Davis, son of Miles; Vince Wilburn, Jr. nephew of Miles; American Idol’s Joshua Ledet performing the National Anthem; a performance by jazz trumpeter Gabriel Johnson, a speech by musician/actor/author Henry Rollins, and jazz artist Marcus Miller. Robert Trujillo (Metallica), American Idol’s Casey Abrams and Soul Train’s Tony Cornelius were in attendance, among others. Master of Ceremonies was Bubba Jackson from KJAZZ.
